About Me

HEATHER HAWKS

Missionary serving in Japan, Asia Pacific

Heather Hawks is a career missionary having grown up as a missionary kid in Belgium where her parents produced children’s TV shows at International Media Ministries.  Heather has been involved in Children’s Ministry for 18 years. She traces her call to world missions back to when she received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as a child of eight years old.

Heather is bold and adventuresome, spending part of her Southeastern University education studying theology abroad at Oxford University in England.  Her passion for children has led her to swim with sharks and jump out of a perfectly good airplane while skydiving to raise funds for BGMC.

Heather will take her passion to the Northern Pacific Rim of Asia Pacific in Japan to promote children’s ministry by training leaders, establishing indigenous children’s ministries, and holding crusades to win kids to Christ. She will be partnering with Yokota International Christian Assembly (ICA) in the greater Tokyo area as a base for training and reaching the children of Asia in her Tokyo NextGEN ministry.

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”

  • Matthew 19:14 (NIV)

The greater Tokyo area is home to 13.96 million people, which is nearly 25% of the population, and the most populated metropolitan area in the world.

Only .04% of Japan’s population are believers, making the Japanese the second largest “NEVER-REACHED Peoples Group” in the world as most of this 99.7% have not even heard the Good News of Jesus Christ in all of human history!

Mission

Jesus loves children. They are precious and are never too young to experience the glory of God. Therefore, I will go into the Northern Pacific Rim and share the love of Christ with the second largest unreached people group in the world - Japan. The mission is to lead Asia’s next generation to Christ and to develop national leaders to continue to help these kids grow and develop as sons and daughters of Christ.
